Emery Park is home to two prominent mountains in Kent; Leonard Mountain and Segar Mountain. Both mountains are accessible 12 months, 365 days a year.
Anyone wishing to become a Leonard & Segar Summit Club member must hike up and down to Leonard Mountain and Segar Mountain in Emery Park. Upon successful ascent and descent from the two mountains, and submission of registration using the link below, hikers will be awarded a patch and letter of completion. Hikers should make every effort to locate and sign the canister notebook on the summit of the two peaks.
Please sign in at the visitor log located near the Green Barn. Signing in at the park provides a record of your accomplishment, can aid in Search and Rescue situations, and provides use information for the Town of Kent’s Parks and Recreation Department to advocate for funds and maintain Emery Park.
A one-time payment of $5 per person is required for registering your accomplishments. Club acknowledgement for dogs, cats, and all companion animals are accepted and are $5 each. To register your pet, please reach out to Matt at parkandrec@townofkentct.gov.
Free guided hikes are offered by appointments for individuals and groups, and requests can be made to Matt at parkandrec@townofkentct.gov. Additionally, free guided group hikes are scheduled throughout the summer on Tuesday evenings.
